The Weapon

Hebrews 4:12

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

We only have one offensive weapon, which is the Word of God, the Holy Bible. The primary version of choice is the King James Version. In order to properly use this weapon, we need to know it comprehensively. This will come by reading and meditating on it on a daily basis. Our enemy is very familiar with the contents of the Holy Bible and will twist it with subtlety in order to take us off course.

 II Timothy 2:15

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The study of God’s needs to be an integral part of our everyday lives. When we are confronted by the enemy, we must follow the example of the Lord Jesus and quote the relevant portion of scripture from the Word of God with conviction and belief. Nothing else will be effective. The devil cannot be defeated by using just sheer will power alone.

The Lord Jesus being tempted by Satan

Matthew 4:1-10

Matthew 4:4

4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

In addition to the study of the Word, in order to overcome, we must maintain our testimony and apply the Blood of the Lamb to our lives as necessary.

Revelation 12:11

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

The stoning of Stephen
(Acts 7:55-60)

But this is not the end, the Lord Jesus will be returning soon to set up His dominion across the entire earth. At that time He will avenge the blood of His servants, and He will rule over all of the nations with a rod of iron.

Revelation 19:11-16

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, and clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
