Boot Camp

II Timothy 2:3-4

3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

From this point forward it will be assumed that you :

  1. Have been BORN AGAIN; (if you are not sure what this is click here)
  2. Have been Baptised with Water; and
  3. Have been Baptised with the Holy Spirit. (With the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.)
Boot Camp or Recruit Training is where you will obtain Basic Military Training for Spiritual Warfare. Indoctrination and instructions will be provided here to assist you to be victorious in all of your spiritual battles. Spiritual Warfare supersedes all other forms of warfare, because it is continually in progress. There would be times when it would get more intense, and other times when it would seem to wane. But this war is always in progress, and has been so for thousands of years. The enemy is continuously on the prowl to see where they can get an advantage.

I Peter 5:8-11

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Although our focus is on the spiritual realm, because we are living in physical bodies, wisdom dictates that we discipline and properly maintain our physical bodies. In armies of the natural realm, Boot Camp is normally associated with strenuous physical exercises, first aid training and survival techniques. However, in order to be a successful spiritual soldier in the long term we do recommend that a basic exercise routine be implemented and diet adjustments be made. A webpage has been dedicated to Diet and Exercise.

Additionally, our recruit training will comprise of:

  1. Weapon Training
  2. Marksmanship
  3. Spiritual Survival Techniques
  4. Armour Training
  5. Intercession
But more than all of the above, we will be fooling ourselves if we do not strive against sin. We must make every effort to overcome sin. If we are not making an ernest effort in striving against sin, then we will be living in the devil’s camp and we will end up being his hostage and his slave. Sin promises to serve and please, but it really enslaves and dominates instead.

I John 3:8-9

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

At times, if a spiritual error or sin is committed, it is critical that this error be corrected as soon as possible so that the enemy does not get an advantage over us. Errors can either be of commission or omission, the latter being where we failed to obey an instruction of the Holy Spirit. Unconfessed sin can be a barrier between us and God. This barrier can hinder our prayers and render us ineffective. Hence always let us be ready to repent of any short coming, so that it is unable to take root within our lives and then become a stumbling block unto us.

I John 2:1-2

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not only for our’s only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Next, we must understand the bases from which our enemy operates from. He has 3 bases which are wrapped up in this world system in which we now live. We must guard our affections, so that we are not drawn in and enticed by the enemy. These are his bases:

  1. The Lust of the Flesh;
  2. The Lust of the Eyes; and
  3. The Pride of Life.

I John 2:15-17

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father, is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Finally, our objectives must be clear, we must::

  1. Fight the good fight;
  2. Finish the work that God the Father has given us to do; and
  3. Keep our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ unto the end.

It is not sufficient just to start out properly, but we must endure right unto the very end. We need to work out our own salvation with patience and persistence. At the core, we must live our lives in a way that is always pleasing to God the Father. Also, we need to help others to do the same and build up the Kingdom of God.

So once we have our personal lives in order, we must then set out to plunder the Kingdom of Darkness and to populate the Kingdom of God. In meeting these goals, we will be abundantly rewarded when we meet our soon coming King, the Lord Jesus Christ.

II Timothy 4:7

7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
